LOW ARCHITECTURE: STATUS S2 CLASSIC BASS

Originally designed in 1981,  this  response to the Steinberger Q4 Bass takes a somewhat unwieldy original design and turns up the elegance.  The woven graphite neck is a marvel unto itself,  as are the woods, transparent stains,  and  "right hand" bridge/tuner assembly.  It's most definitely a U.K.  beauty!

PROCESS: PANELS FOR A TRIPTYCH, FINALLY

I'm now prepared to work on the three-paneled painting whose preliminary sketches have haunted me for the last year or so.  It will be hung horizontally, and have a overall height of about five and a half feet.  The panels are three-quarters inch plywood,  and have quite the heft.

LOW ARCHITECTURE: ZETA CROSSOVER BASS

I generally seek out instruments that appeal to my desire for a different kind of aesthetic vision with little regard for the demands of playability or technique. The Zeta Crossover Bass was designed as a bridge from electric bass guitar to upright bass,  as it can be played horizontally like a guitar,  or vertically (on an endpin/stand).  It's 34" scale and Piezo pickups make it both comfortable to play and great sounding beyond any need for a large and bulky upright.

PROCESS

Another painting nearly done... perhaps?  Is this merely retinal sensation (as Duchamp would suggest) or a kind of  image/ideation?
